The Cubo delle Cinque Scole is a library proposal for a site within the Piazza delle Cinque Scole in Rome, Italy. The design alludes to Renaissance ideals with its perfect cube geometry, but takes a more modern approach with minimal ornamentation and monumental form. The Cubo activates the surrounding Piazza with an inviting glass ground floor level. The library lights the piazza at night, as the interior lights shine through the translucent alabaster material.
